SUMMARY:
 
The Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) provides one on one mental health interventions to a child or adolescent under the age of 21, with a serious emotional disturbance. The goal of the TSS services is to prevent the client from entering a more restrictive setting or service. Moreover, the TSS may be prescribed to integrate or reintegrate the client into normalizing settings and activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides face-to-face behavioral interventions.
• Implements Individualized Treatment Plans
• Provides support to parents, teachers, and community officials
• Serves as a role model exhibiting appropriate, positive behavior
• Provides positive reinforcement to the clients and families
• Implements consequences for inappropriate actions of the adolescent
• Communicates with peers and co-workers and exchanges information which is important in
• Achieving the individual goals for the clients
• Performs related work as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS/BA Degree in a Human Service Field (examples include but not limited to: Psychology, Education/Teacher, Sociology, Criminal Justice) with no experience (experience preferred)
OR
• BS/BA Degree in a non-Human Service field with a least one year paid experience with children and/or families
OR
• AA Degree in a Human Service field (or 60 credits toward a BS/BA degree) and at least three years paid experience with children and/or families
• Paid work with children and/or families: 1 year
• In addition, Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background and FBI Clearances must be obtained (CBH will assist you in obtaining these clearances)
• Travel is a must so a valid PA Driver’s License is necessary
